Aviation Heritage Lincolnshire
With over 40 operational airfields within Lincolnshire during WW2, and with 4 active RAF stations which originated in WW1, the county of Lincolnshire has an outstanding aviation heritage. Mindful of this historic past, a unique partnership was formed to preserve and promote the various heritage sites and aviation museums.
Known originally as the Lincolnshire Integrated Aviation Heritage Partnership (LIAHP) it comprises representatives from not only the heritage sites, but also the County and District Councils, Lincolnshire Tourism, Business Enterprise and the RAF, with advice from East Midlands Museum, Libraries & Archives (MLA).
Having been successful in a bid for Heritage Lottery Funding, the Partnership has recently been able to recruit an Outreach and Learning Officer and an Aviation Development Officer for a 3 year period, to help develop various sites in the county. Phil Bonner and Dave Harrigan are recently retired from the Royal Air Force and are now actively supporting the member sites.
